Here’s hoping this year brings positive outcomes and heartfelt dreams come true.

Just returned home from a quick trip to Timor where a whole bunch of us played for the troops. Andy Bull and his band, India Rose Madderom and my band consisting of James Haselwood, Dave Hibbard, Franco Raggatt and Andrew Worboys.
The Timorese are amazing, sweet, hardy, tiny, joyful people with big hearts and a big history. What they’ve had to endure!
We had a joy ride in a Black Hawk which was AWESOME and got to hang out with the men and women who do such a great job. I’ve had a couple of oportunities to see Australian and NZ troops in their working environments and it never ceases to amaze me how organised and competent and empathetic they are in alien environments.
It’s a great feeling giving them a little bit of a distraction for a couple of hours.
This is very worthwhile if you believe in leaving our kids a livable environment.
Whether you believe the science of climate change or not, isn’t it better to keep our planet clean?
Keep an eye out for details. Concert to be held on March 21st starring a host of artists including
Jenny, Jon Stevens, Dragon, Tina Harrod, Rai Thistlethwayte (Thursty Merc), Reg and Peter O’Dogherty,
Jade McCrae and many more.
With art donations for auction by
Euan McLeod, Reg Mombassa, Peter O’Dogherty and Susan O’Dogherty.
STAY TUNED
Hello all,
I received a comment about my Tasmanian show, which has made me realise I need to share something with you all. This is what I wrote in response to a fan who thought I was totally disinterested at a festival performance I did in Tasmania at the weekend….
I am being treated for a condition called Spasmodic Dysphonia (you can Google it if you want to know more).
This sometimes makes speaking incredibly difficult for me, so I can’t talk between songs as much as I’d like (and I sound like Linda Blair when I do!). It’s particularly frustrating for me and obviously confusing for the audience as one of the things I love about performing is engaging with my fans.
Thankfully, and strangely, this peculiar affliction still allows me to sing.
And thankfully it’s curable. I am in the midst of what will be a lengthy rehabilitation to allow me to speak “normally” again.
The last thing I want to do is frighten people off sounding like a Dalek, so just remember that underneath the freaky speech lies the same heart and soul that’s always been there!
I sincerely apologise to anyone who may have felt the same as this fan. I hope you know how much I appreciate your support, and how much enjoyment I get from performing for you all.
It’s a pain in the arse because no one likes to talk as much as I do, but I’m working very hard on the rehabilitation, and before you know it, my ringing bell-like voice will be telling bad jokes between songs once again.
